The committees include the public accounts committee to be chaired by Nandala Mafabi, the shadow cabinet secretary for finance. He will be deputised by DP’s kawempe south MP Sebuliba Mutumba.

FDC’s Geoffrey Ekanya (Tororo) is the new chairperson of the local government accounts committee.
UPC’s David Ringe Chan (Padyere) is his deputy.

DP’s Issa Kikungwe (Kyadondo south) is to chair the government assurance committee.

During the adoption of the new rules of procedures of Parliament, it was agreed that the opposition takes chairmanship of the four committees.

The leader of the opposition in Parliament, Prof. Moris Ogenga Latigo has also appointed two MPs to fill two positions in a shadow cabinet.
