THE promotion in which motorists and readers receive free Unleaded Extra fuel from Shell and The New Vision has caused excitement countrywide.

Motorists, who got coupons from The New Vision and Bukedde, rushed to several stations to receive the fuel, which Shell launched recently.

By about 11:00am, about 30 motorists had received free fuel from attendants at Shell Bugolobi in Kampala.

Among them was Vincent Ssempala, who turned up with two coupons and received free fuel worth sh4,000.

“The promotion is good. We are grateful to Shell and The New Vision for coming up with this idea of rewarding clients. Unleaded Extra is good for the engine,” he said.

Edith Namulima, a pump attendant, said motorists were enthusiastic about the promotion, adding that some rushed to buy The New Vision after being enlightened about it.

Some motorists forgot their papers at home, said Moses Odong, another pump attendant, adding that they promised to return with them.

Shell brand and communications manager James Ndiwalana said the response to the promotion, which kicked off on Monday, was good.

“We are trying to ensure that motorists receive the benefits of Unleaded Extra fuel at no cost,” he remarked.

New Vision circulation administrator Margaret Wamweta urged people to buy The New Vision and Bukedde to get coupons to enable them get the free fuel.
