NEMA, KCC please arrest the situation immediately

SIR — Are people living opposite Kabira Country Club on the Bukoto-Ntinda road in good health? I am very concerned about the situation there.

SIR — Are people living opposite Kabira Country Club on the Bukoto-Ntinda road in good health? I am very concerned about the situation there. The place stinks to high heaven and one cannot avoid it when passing there even if one is in a vehicle! Is it an open sewer or do people dispose human refuse there? Whatever it is, nobody is allowed to pollute the environment to such an extent. Even if they were, which is most unlikely NEMA has the duty and mandate to arrest the situation. It is simply unacceptable!

SIR — Is it possible that KCC and NEMA are not aware of the disgusting stench opposite Kabira Country Club? What is the source of the stench and how can everybody behave as if they have no noses? Isn’t our health in grave danger? How do the big shots enjoy their drinks and food at Kabira Club engulfed in such stench? How can the people who live in the neighbourhood bear it or have they lost their sense of smell? Even if this is Uganda, where people in high places can abuse their offices with impunity, this is too much. MEMA, KCC, Ministry of Health and the LC 1 in Bukoto should do something immediately if there is any more sanity in this country.
