UGANDA’S featherweight Jackson “Action” Asiku failed in his bid to win the IBF Pan Pacific featherweight title from Thailand’s Fahprakorb Rakkiatgym on Thursday in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Adelaide based pugilist lost on the cards by a unanimous decision.
Asiku used an aggressive style to attack the Thai champ from the opening session, but Fahprakorb used good counter punching against his opponent.
In the second round, the Ugandan pushed the Thailander into the ropes and landed some good shots, but Fahprakorb made it through the round.

The hard hitting Thai southpaw then returned to his own aggressive style by attacking the body and was very effective in the final minutes of round 4. In the 8th round, Fahprakorb landed some devastating shots to Asiku’s body which took away most of his power. But, Asiku still managed to land a hard shot to cut Fahprakorb’s right eye in the last round.

The official score cards read 116-112, 116-113, and 116-113 for the Thailander.
It was the first fight for Asiku in the new year and might have a devastating effect on his career.
