A NEW hospital has been opened in Mbarara.
Mayanja Memorial Hospital is expected to offer a variety of services such as CD4 testing and free blood transfusion.
It will also provide anti-retroviral drugs.
The hospital has modern laboratories and unique machines.
Speaking at a press conference last week, the medical director, Dr. Benon Mugerwa, said by completion, the hospital would have cost over sh5b.
He added that it would be the biggest private hospital in the region.
The first phase which was completed in November last year had a capacity of 100 beds.
The hospital is scheduled for official opening on April 10 by President Yoweri Museveni.
