THE Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) has offered a sh1.4b grant to Uganda to support Kabale’s rural electrification.
The energy ministry’s Permanent Secretary Kabagambe Kaliisa said this while leading a SIDA team on a fact-finding field visit to Kabale on Thursday.
“As Government, we have strong hope that this power line will help locals stimulate small and medium scale enterprises,†Kaliisa said.
The 18km-power line which is expected to be commissioned in September runs from Uganda to the Katuna boarder post to Ryakarimira in Kabale.
