By Ahmed Angulibo REBELS in northern Uganda have been called upon to emulate the decision of UNRF II to return home for peace talks with the Government. The group, led by Ali Bamuze, recently handed over his 135 child-soldiers to UNICEF for rehabilitation. UNICEF regional manager northern Uganda Lena Schildt made the call on May 13 at the handover of the children by Bamuze to UNICEF at UNRF II Bidibidi peace camp in Yumbe. “This is one of my greatest experience in African life. It shows peace and reconciliation is possible. This is a good moment for Yumbe district, which is still new. I hope this good example will spill over to the rest of the northern region,” Schildt said. Schildt said talks were the best way to solve conflicts. Ends
