By Vision ReporterHigh Court Judge David Wangutusi refused to try handcuffed suspects in Masindi on Monday, saying they should be free during trial.Three UPDF soldiers identified as Javira Ssentongo, Ibrahim Kazibwe and Mulindwa had been produced on two counts of aggravated robbery. This was the beginning of the 45-day High Court session in Masindi.The regional CID officer, John Bwango and the deputy district CID officer, Gaudencio Ondhole, attended court.“We can’t take plea with those cuffs on their hands especially when we are surrounded by guns,” Wangutusi said.The Masindi prison O/C, James Aisu, apologised, saying it was an oversight.Ends
