THE President of World Vision International, Dean Hirsh, has hailed the Church in Uganda for it’s role in the fight against the HIV-Aids scourge.

A release by the communications manager, Denye Kalebbo, said this is the first time World Vision board has met outside the organisation’s headquarters in the USA.

Hirsh made the remarks at a meeting between World Vision’s International board and church leaders at Grand Imperial hotel in Kampala yesterday.

Hirsh said through sermons, counseling and special care for AIDS orphans, the Church had helped to reduce the stigma on AIDS victims.
