A good egg comes from a good hen

SIR—I was the best candidate in grade III teachers’ examinations released on July 13, 2001. I was the only one who passed with a distinction.To my surprise, the reporterwho covered the story neither mentioned my name nor sought an interview with me. I made efforts to reach your office but was ignored. After several visits, one of your reporters interviewed and photographed me promising to publish the story in the next Education Vision but up to now nothing has appeared. With PLE results, your reporters run after the best pupils and even publish their photographs on the frontpage. I assure you it is their teachers who make them excel. Why praise the “egg” and forget the “hen”? Excelling teachers also need recognition.Godfrey OthienoBuyala Junior School
