EARNEST Muyunga of Nakulabye Zone in Kampala put pepper in his food to discourage the neighbour’s children, who used to interfere in his meals. This happened May 19, when Muyunga, who had for a long time been disturbed by the three children joining him at meals, decided to trick them so that they would never return.“Have the food and eat. I’m now using sour pepper in my food because it is what my doctor told me to do after finding a strange disease in me which can only be cured by pepper. If you can take it the way it is, OK, do it,” Muyunga told the children as he gave them the unpleasant food. The children insisted that they were able to eat the food: “Uncle Muyunga, we can eat it. You just give it to us. We have a similar disease to yours,” they jokingly said.As they ate, the younger two cried, attracting their mother.“What’s wrong?” the mum asked. “Pepper, pepper, very sour,” one of them replied.Ends
