UP to 53 Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels have surrendered and de-linked the week-end attack on Kasese town from the ADF, reports John Thawite. The acting commander of the UPDF 2nd Division, Lt. Col. Tumusiime Nyakaitana, said the rebels surrendered on Monday from the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and Kiraro in the Rwenzori Mountains overlooking Kitoru sub-county in Kasese district. Nyakaitana said the rebels surrendered in two groups, one comprising ADF ranks only and the other consisting of fighters of the defunct National Army for the Liberation of Uganda (NALU). He said one of the rebels was the wife of Phinehas Kisokeranio, the deputy to the ADF overall commander, Abdallah Yusuf Kabanda. Ends
