The rally that is sixth round of the National Rally Championship (NRC) series was postponed to next month at the request of the sponsor, Shell Uganda. "We just swapped dates with the UMC sprint, the rest of the calendar is intact," UMOSPOC vice president, Juma Nkambwe said. "Drivers start registering on June 20," Nkambwe said adding that Shell would soon release the launch programme. The event with Charlie Lubega as defending champion will start with a super special stage at Kaazi on July 7 before the main leg that will cover Lugogo the next day. The UMC sprint has meanwhile moved forward from July 8 to June 24 at Garuga circuit. Wycliff Bukenya in a Toyota Celica ST 185 and veteran Godfrey Katende are the early entrants. Castrol sponsored Bukenya said his car is set for the fourth round of the Clubman Rally Championship (CRC) event on the FMU calendar. Most top drivers are expected to test their cars at the double track circuit ahead of the Shell Hellix rally. Meanwhile, over 30 riders from various parts of the country will compete in the opening round of the National grass track motorcycle championship at Wankulukuku this weekend. Ends
