Bidandi Refutes Press Reports On Multipartyists

LOCAL government minister Bidandi Ssali has disassociated himself from reports that the Movement parliamentary election co-ordination team which he heads has compiled a list of the new multi-party MPs.

By Geoffrey Kamali LOCAL government minister Bidandi Ssali has disassociated himself from reports that the Movement parliamentary election co-ordination team which he heads has compiled a list of the new multi-party MPs. Bidandi said in a statement last evening that his team had not compiled any such list and that many of the MPs had worked closely with him as chairman of President Yoweri Museveni's campaign team. "Bidandi wishes to inform the general public and those concerned that there is no such purported list and wishes and he categorically disassociates himself from Ofwono Opondo's allegation of this purported list," the release said. A press report had said Bidandi's team had identified 51 multi-party MPs and nine MPs who had identified themselves with Col. Kizza Besigye in his reform agenda political thinking. Ends
