Beware of unemployed ‘employers’ in town

I am a resident of Kasubi and a Makerere University graduate. I recently applied for a job as a manager in a ‘firm’ called Praise Company Limited after listening to their advertisement on radio.

They really sound genuine with a list of jobs to offer. They commonly advertise jobs for managers, cashiers, receptionists, drivers, and so on but what is strange is that they only ask you to come with a pen and sh10,000 claiming it is to cater for the company identity card.

They supply photocopied paper for the applicant to fill and later they call that applicant for ‘training’. But the applicant must go with sh3,000 for that training.

The interview is carried out by people who have no experience in any profession but they dress smarty in suits with ties and call each other ‘manager’. But the truth is they have to no jobs although they have got various branches around Kampala.

One of them is in Namungona near Total petrol station. I call upon all Ugandans seeking employment not go to these people because these employers are themselves not employed and looking for their own survival from fellow job seekers. I request the media and Police to take interest in these people and save people from being ripped off.
