Conservative Party
Election Year: 2026-2031 (Uganda)
Constituency:National

Biography Overview

Elton Joseph Mabirizi is a presidential candidate representing the Conservative Party  in the 2026 presidential race.

Mabirizi is now officially a two-time presidential candidate.

After the nomination, Mabirizi described the process of collecting signatures and getting nominated as tough, but thanked God, whom he said had helped him.
He thanked Conservative Party members for entrusting him with the responsibility of carrying their flag and vowed to cause change.
Mabirizi said the Conservative Party stands for federalism, which is the answer to Uganda's problems.
He said he had come to quench the thirst of Ugandans who have been waiting for a leader who can bring reconciliation to all people.
"The problem we have today is because of leaders trying to cling onto power against the people's will. That will be solved when I am voted into power," Mabirizi said.

If elected into office, he said he will release all political prisoners in the first 100 days, put more emphasis on climate change, ensure that resources are utilised well to benefit every Ugandan and equitable sharing of the national cake.

"I will make sure that all those bodaboda riders and motorists whose motorcycles and vehicles are at police stations get released," he said.

Mabirizi is now contesting for presidency for the second time. His first attempt was in 2016.

Over the years, Mabirizi said he had gained experience, built capacity and mobilised well to take on the presidential challenge come 2026.

"This time, I have come with a baton campaign. A baton campaign is intended for every Ugandan to come up and participate so that we can get a new leader together," he said.

Mabirizi also promised to reduce the size of cabinet, legislators and resident district commissioners.
