Rhinos dare Pirates at Legends in quarterfinals
The Nile Special Rugby Championship gets into an exciting stage on Saturday with the quarterfinals.
At Legends Rugby Club, Rhinos host the Stanbic Black Pirates at 4:00 pm and this promises to be a grueling fixture.
In the regular League, the Rhinos dominated the game but lost to the Pirates because of maturity. Now that the schoolboys have gained experience, Pirates should be ready for the fight.
Timothy Buloti, Rhinos' backs coach said that the boys are in the mood and they are ready to give fans value for their money in this quarterfinal stage.
"We lost to them in the regular league despite dominating the game. It is the mistakes we have worked on and we are going to avenge that by putting up our best show," Buloti noted.
However, The Pirates are also ready for the fight and target winning this year's trophy and that is what makes this game at Legends a must-watch fixture.
"We are ready. Our low performance was because we had lost over six players including Mubarak Wandera, Roy Kizito, Isaac Masanganzira, William Nkore, Timothy Kisiga, Desire Ayera, and Alex Aturinda for national duty and this took more time for us to bond with the young players," senior player Haruna Muhammad said.
In the other games Toyota Buffaloes battle Jinja Hippos in Jinja in the game that is billed to be a bruising and mouth-watering clash. The Platinum Heathens face-off with Walukuba at Kyadondo Rugby Club.
In Entebbe, the Plascon Mongers take on the KCB KOBS in another bruising dogfight fixture.
The new rugby format has presented a regular season and a home and away knockout stage that not only gives fans two exciting fixtures, but also an opportunity for teams to reboot their quest for the title.
