Nebbi Catholic Diocese will be hosting the national celebrations for Uganda Martyrs Day celebrations.
The organising committee chaired by Older Persons - Northern region Catherine Akumu Mavenjina spent Thursday afternoon appreciating those who have contributed to the cause.
Centenary Bank contributed sh50m while the Parliamentary Catholic Chaplaincy contributed sh 60m. Those who contributed were appreciated with golden certificates.
Pride Microfinance donated sh5m. She said that so far, out of the 1.8 billion budget, 65% is covered thanks to the generous giving. Mavenjina said they are confident that the 35% will be got.
On top of the list is the renovation of the altar where the Martyrs Day mass will be celebrated.
Mavenjina urged the rest of the public to come and contribute so that the budget is realised for Nebbi Catholic Diocese to be able to deliver a successful Martyrs Day celebrations.
