Among those in attendance was 80-year-old Andrew Jume, a former LCI chairperson of Olony Village and one of the elders instrumental in the creation of Nwoya District.
Jume lamented the persistent food shortages in the area despite its fertile land, attributing the crisis to rampant land grabbing. “Personally, I lost over 50 acres of my land to a rich man from the West, yet even when government programs like the Parish Development Model (PDM) come, only a few benefit,” he said.
