On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, the presidential campaigns intensified as candidates traversed the country in the lead-up to the upcoming general elections.

President Yoweri Museveni (NRM) campaigned in Kanungu and Rukungiri, announcing a special fertiliser fund for tea farmers and emphasising peace as a cornerstone of NRM’s legacy. FDC’s James Nandala Mafabi launched Buganda-region rallies in Luwero, where Nakasongola voters pressed for compensation for cattle lost during the bush war. In Buikwe, NUP’s Robert Kyagulanyi attracted enthusiastic supporters, later addressing supporters at Buwooya playground. ANT’s Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Mugisha Muntu rallied in Butaleja, pledging to uplift household incomes through agriculture while criticising money lenders and the limitations of the PDM, promoting the Agricultural Credit Facility instead.

National Resistance Movement (NRM)

President Yoweri Museveni, the NRM presidential flag bearer, campaigned in Kanungu and Rukungiri.



In Kanungu, he announced a government plan to establish a special fund to help tea farmers access affordable fertilisers. Museveni also reminded residents that peace remains the first of the NRM’s seven core contributions—something especially appreciated by communities near the Congo border.

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC)



FDC presidential candidate James Nathan Nandala Mafabi entered the Buganda region, launching rallies in Luwero after 57 days on the campaign trail, beginning in Busiika Town Council.







In Nakasongola, voters led by Bashir Bisoso urged him to pursue compensation for cattle lost during the bush war, an appeal made during his campaign stop in Kazwama Town Council. (Photos by Alfred Ochwo).

NUP presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu held rallies in Buikwe District, where he received a warm welcome from residents. He later addressed supporters at Buwooya playground in Buikwe South Constituency.

Alliance for National Transformation (ANT)







ANT presidential candidate Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Mugisha Muntu vowed to lift households in Butaleja out of poverty, pledging to drive annual family incomes to over sh25 million through agriculture-led transformation.





While speaking at Busolwe Town Council, he criticised money lenders’ “chains” and highlighted the limits of the Parish Development Model (PDM), instead championing the Agricultural Credit Facility (ACF) as a more empowering alternative.
