2026 polls: NRM, UPC share spoils in Lango

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) and the Uganda People's Congress (UPC) have shared the spoils in the Lango sub-region, with only one candidate winning on an independent ticket.

Only one independent candidate, Patrick Ocan of Apac Municipality, won a parliamentary seat.

Those who sailed through on the UPC ticket are;

  • District Woman MP-elect is Janet Auma Okao
  • Amolatar North MP-elect is Geoffrey Ocen
  • Amolatar County is Collin Angwech 
  • Dokolo District Woman MP-elect is Sarah Aguti Nyangkori
  • Kwania District Woman MP-elect is Kenny Auma
  • Apac Maruzi County Peter Obong Acuda, 
  • Oyam District Woman MP-elect is Santa Alum Ogwang
  • Oyang North is Eunice Apio Otuku
  • Lira City West Shedrick Vincent Obong Eyit
  • Leo Elem Moroto County
  • Vincent Opito Dokolo South


The NRM candidates who have emerged victorious in the January 15, 2026, General Election are:
