Uganda releases over 50 captive parrots into the wild

According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List, there are about 40,000 to 100,000 African grey parrots in the world.

Reports say in Uganda, the population of African Grey Parrots is threatened by increased forest loss in places such as Mabira and Budongo forest, as well as pet trade.
