A total of eight Southern White rhino species will be relocated under this project, supported by the Rhino Recovery Fund, Global Conservation, and the Uganda Conservation Foundation.

The project aims to restore the rhino population in the region and the wild and boost tourism.

UWA revealed that a 1,600-acre fenced sanctuary with solar-powered water systems and armed ranger security has been established in KVNP.

The biodiversity-rich savannah hosts over 77 mammal species, including African elephants, Rothschild's giraffes, lions (including tree-climbing lions), buffalo herds, cheetahs, and leopards.

The Park also has unique species, such as aardwolf, caracal, and bat-eared foxes.
