Weatherhead Hockey Club captain Moses Tushabe has urged his teammates to focus on winning the title.

The 2021 National Hockey League champions are in their title race after a terrible season last year.

“We should be focused on winning this season’s league and treat every game as a final to get maximum points from it,” Tushabe told his teammates.

He said this as his side was undergoing training at a Lugogo Hockey Stadium.

Weatherhead embarked on a campaign of improving their defensive tactics after conceding three goals in the last game they played against Wananchi last weekend.

“We need to pay more attention to our defensive approach to the game since we were given a shock last weekend when we conceded first in the game against Wananchi. We failed to keep the lead by conceding a late equaliser," Okodi said.

Weatherhead is in quest for their seventh league win, while Thunders are looking for their third win of the season and mount more pressure on City Lions who are only a point ahead of them in fifth place on the league table standings.

Thunders as league debutants have shown signs of being a hard nut to crack after collecting crucial points from experienced Titans and Originals.

Thunder’s top scorer Muhammad Babu has promised to inflict more harm on Weatherhead.
