Newly appointed Kitara FC head coach Wasswa Bbosa has set a competitive tone as he takes charge following Brian Ssenyondo’s departure.
Bbosa, known for his winning mentality, expressed his determination to make Kitara FC a challenging opponent in the league again.
“I’m a coach who believes in competition, and I’m going to fight hard to see that we are competitive again,”stated Bbosa.
He brings a wealth of experience to the Hoima-based Royals, highlighted by his successful 2021 season with Express FC, where he clinched both the Uganda Premier League title and the CECAFA Kagame Cup. Bbosa's resume also includes previous coaching roles with prominent clubs like SC Villa, Tooro United FC, Gaddafi FC, and Mbarara City FC.
Kitara has struggled early in the 2024/25 season, with only one win, one draw, and four losses in six games, leaving them 14th in the league table and facing relegation concerns. Bbosa’s first mission is to break the team’s five-game winless streak, starting with his debut match against URA FC on Friday at the Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo.
Supporting Bbosa is a strong technical team: assistant coaches Hassan Mubiru and George Lutalo, goalkeeping coach Richard Kansole, fitness trainer Ayub Balyejusa, team doctor Aloysius Makubuya, and statistician Alex Mugisha. With this skilled staff, Bbosa believes Kitara can turn its season around.
“With the experience I have and the technical team’s support, we can get the job done,” he said, emphasizing the urgency to make impactful changes in the eight months they've been given to reshape Kitara FC.
