Vivo Energy Uganda, through its Shell FuelSave Diesel and Shell Rimula brands, has officially partnered with the 2025 Rugby Africa Cup.

The continental tournament will run from July 8 to 26, 2025, at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole in Bweyogerere, Wakiso District.

This year’s edition also serves as a qualifier for the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia. The winner of the eight-team tournament will qualify directly to represent Africa, while the runner-up will face Asia’s second-placed team in a playoff for a World Cup berth.

As the official logistics partner, Shell will cover transport requirements for all participating teams and officials, including Uganda, Zimbabwe, Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Namibia, Senegal, and Burkina Faso.

Uganda Rugby Union Honorary Secretary Peter Odongo welcomed the partnership, calling it timely and crucial for the tournament’s success.
“We are delighted to have Vivo Energy Uganda on board as our official logistics partner. Their support will ensure smooth travel and operations for all teams involved,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of Managing Director Joanita Mukasa Menya, Vivo Energy Uganda’s Head of Supply and Distribution, Geoffrey Elyanu, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting Rugby Africa.
“Our partnership with the Uganda Rugby Union for the 2025 Rugby Africa Cup reflects Vivo Energy Uganda’s commitment to sports and community development. By fuelling team travel and logistics with Shell FuelSave Diesel and Shell Rimula, we are powering not only the tournament, but also the dreams of athletes and fans across Africa,” Elyanu noted.

He added: “This collaboration builds on our long-standing support for national sporting events, including motorsport and motocross, reinforcing our role in uniting communities through sport.”
