It’s raining, it’s pouring…

From floods to a high-profile murder and the excitement of a coronation, we look back on the ups and downs of the week, through the lenses of our photojournalists.

Heavy rains continued to pound different parts of the country in the week past, leaving destruction in their wake.

On Thursday, following a downpour, a section of the Kabale-Kisoro road caved in at Kaara village in Hamurwa town council, Rubanda district, leaving traffic to delicately make its way down what was left of the road.

For some, however, the collapse of the bridge was an opportunity to make some money. The dangers notwithstanding, they offered to carry residents across the river. Photo by Abdulkarim Ssengendo

The story was no different in eastern Uganda where residents found different ways to cross a section of the road that had been submerged at Kisoga village, Nazigo sub-county. The road links Kayunga to Mukono and Buikwe districts. Several access roads and bridges have been submerged and others washed away in the three districts following the flooding of River Musamya.Photo by Saul Wokulira
