Hundreds of English Premier League fans are expected to visit the New Vision on Monday to see the Premier League trophy. It’s a great opportunity for them to show support for their favourite clubs.

Guinness is giving Uganda’s football fans something new to celebrate by bringing the famous Premier League Trophy to the country from October 11 to 13, 2026. The trophy’s visit is part of a three-country East African tour.

After stopping in Entebbe on Sunday, the trophy will head to the Vision Group headquarters, where the New Vision, Bukedde Newspaper, Bukedde Radio, and other stations are based.

Fans can take photos with the trophy, which Asprey of London, the Crown Jewellers, designed and made.

The trophy’s design includes important symbols inspired by the Three Lions theme. It is based on "The Three Lions of English Football": two lions are cast into the handles on each side, and when the captain lifts the trophy above their head, they become the third lion.

The main body is made from solid sterling silver with a silver-gilt finish and is topped with a 24-carat silver-gilt crown. The base is made from malachite, a green semi-precious stone from Africa, with the green colour representing the field of play. A silver band around the plinth is engraved with the names of each season's title-winning club.

The trophy stands 3 feet 5 inches tall (104 cm), is 2 feet wide (61 cm), and weighs 25.4 kg. The engraved base alone weighs about 15.9 kg.

For the first time in over a decade, Ugandans will get to see one of football’s most prized symbols up close. This event will turn the excitement of watching the Premier League on TV into a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Over three days, Guinness will combine matchday energy, music, and Ugandan culture to make the trophy’s visit unforgettable.
