Rwanda Premier League side Police FC have secured the signing of experienced Ugandan striker Emmanuel Okwi for the upcoming 2025/26 season.

Okwi, 33, joins Police FC after his one-year contract with fellow Rwandan top-flight club AS Kigali expired.

He arrives on the back on an impressive individual campaign with Kigali, where he was their top scorer last season with nine league goals.

His tally saw him narrowly miss out on the Golden Boot and earned him a nomination for the league's Best Player of the Season award. AS Kigali finished third in the league standings.

The former Uganda Cranes captain retired from international football in March 2025 but continues to be a potent force at the club level. Okwi brings a wealth of experience across multiple continents, having played for clubs including Kiyovu SC (Rwanda), SC Villa (Uganda), Simba SC and Young Africans (Yanga) (Tanzania), Étoile du Sahel (Tunisia), Ittihad Alexandria (Egypt), SønderjyskE (Denmark), and Al-Zawraa (Iraq).

Police FC expects Okwi's proven goalscoring ability and leadership to significantly bolster their attacking options for the new season.
