URA FC in advanced talks to sign Marvin Nyanzi

Uganda Premier League side URA FC are in advanced negotiations to sign attacking midfielder Marvin Nyanzi, with the tax collectors edging closer to securing one of the league's most exciting creative talents ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The development comes just days after Nyanzi confirmed his departure from Express FC, bringing an end to his brief but memorable spell at the Red Eagles. Taking to social media, the midfielder bid an emotional farewell, writing: "Grateful for the chapter that has ended. Express FC, thank you, and I'll always appreciate the memories."

Although he only joined Express midway through last season, Nyanzi quickly became one of the club's standout performers. His flair, creativity, and fearless style of play made him an instant fan favourite, with his performances often becoming a major talking point after every match.

The gifted midfielder has steadily risen through Uganda's football ranks. He first caught the eye at Ndejje United before moving to Kajjansi United, and later earned a UPL move with Wakiso Giants. He then made a surprise switch to Kitara FC before joining Express, where he once again showcased his ability to unlock defences with vision and attacking quality.

Should the move to URA be completed, Nyanzi will reunite with head coach Jimmy Kintu, who previously coached him at Express. The existing relationship between the two could play a key role in helping the midfielder settle quickly at his new club.

URA have been active in the transfer market as they reshape their squad under Kintu ahead of the new campaign, and landing Nyanzi would add creativity and attacking depth to a side determined to challenge for honours.
