Ishmail Wainwright matched his season-high eight points and added four assists and one rebound as the Western Conference leading Phoenix Suns smashed the San Antonio Spurs 133-95 today to improve to 16-7 for the campaign.
This was Wainwright’s eighth NBA outing of the season and it was the best yet, not only in terms of productivity, but also in minutes. Wainwright played 28 minutes, more than all other Suns players with the exception of Devin Booker, who played the same minutes as the Ugandan Silverback.

This is Wainwright’s second season in the NBA, which he also spent with the Suns. Wainwright lost his father last month, which delayed his season debut until 17 November 2022.
Wainwright similarly scored eight points in Phoenix’s one-point loss to the Houston Rockets on Sunday, which ended a two-game scoreless stretch for the forward. Wainwright will not be available for the Silverbacks when they play in the final leg of the World Cup qualifiers in February 2023.
