The three Uganda representatives at this year’s edition of the International Schools Sports Federation (ISF) World Schools football championship due in Morocco, will learn about their opponents on Thursday when the draws are made.
The championship, an initiative of ISF to keep the talent identification and development objective alive, is due July 22nd-31st in the Moroccan City of Rabbat.
Uganda will be represented by FEASSSA champions Kibuli SS and the 2023 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) national boys football championship 4th finishers Amus College in the boys' category while FEASSSA reigning champions and Fresh Diary girls football runners-up St Noa will represent in the girls' category.
USSSA president Justus Mugisha who is also ISF football technical commission president says this is a great opportunity for the three Uganda schools to showcase their ability at an international level.
“It is a big chance for the Ugandan schools to compete at such a high level of schools championship where they will compete against the schools from world football powerhouse nations like Brazil, France, Italy, and others, and am sure the exposure they will get from here will be of great importance in their careers,” Mugisha said.
The draws which will involve teams from over 40 countries, will be conducted in the hosting Rabbat City of Morocco starting at 3:00 pm local time.
