Uganda's heavyweight hard puncher Matovu vows to clinch WBC Africa title

Uganda's heavyweight hard puncher Herbert "The Black Bomber" Matovu has vowed to clinch the World Boxing Council (WBC) Africa title when he takes on South Africa-based DR Congo's Jose Kadima this Saturday, July 11, at the Majestic Emperors Palace in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Dubbed "Magic At The Palace," the highly billed heavyweight blockbuster will be live on SuperSport and headlines a buffet of nine other thrillers on the Golden Gloves card under renowned boxing promoter Rodney Berman.
Matovu, a former East and Central Africa Boxing Union (ABU) heavyweight champion with a record of 10-9-1-0 and 8 career knockouts, believes he has enough fuel in his tank to thump Kadima to pulp.
"I have travelled to South Africa with only one mission in my mind – to win this title. Of course, Kadima is a good fighter, and I respect him, but I'm the undisputed king," Matovu told Vision Sport before his flight.
"I have worked extremely hard for the past three months and I'm ready to give everything in the ring. We have analyzed Kadima's fighting style and techniques, and we know exactly what is necessary to return back with the belt," he added.
Against Kadima, the trio faces a tough mission to accomplish if they are to deliver victory in Johannesburg. The Congolese fighter is undefeated with a ring record of 8-0-0 and 6 knockouts, and remains one of the solid heavyweight prospects on the continent.
Notable undercard thrillers will also see undefeated South Africa's heavyweight Juan Alberts (8-0-1, 5 KOs) taking on Belgium-born Congolese Jack Mulawayi (16-4-1, 12 KOs) in the co-main bout.
In the featherweight division, South Africa's rookie Sanele Sogcwayi (5-0, 2 KOs) will look to maintain his perfect streak against Zimbabwe's Pritchard Dube (1-3-1, 1 KO) in a six-round bout.
