Joshua Cheptegei claimed Uganda’s first medal in Budapest after a sparkling display in the men’s 10,000m final, taking his personal tally in the Championships to three gold and one silver medal.
Uganda had representation in four finals on the last day, but Peruth Chemutai, Halima Nakaayi or Oscar Chelimo, who competed in the women’s 3000m steeplechase, women’s 800m and men’s 5000m, would not yield a third medal.
