Team OO, comprising Ronald Osekeny and Casper Okiru, and The Aldertons, represented by Harriet and Amy Alderton, each scored 65 nett to win the third round of the 2026 I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series at Entebbe Club on Saturday.

That same day, I&M Bank renewed its support for the series with a new three-year partnership and announced an upcoming regional event in Kenya.

The tournament featured the 'Tee for Me' format, attracting over 150 golfers in same-gender pairs. Both players teed off on each hole, swapped balls for the second shot, and continued with the selected ball until completion.

Team OO's performance earned them RwandAir tickets and other prizes, while The Aldertons received accommodation vouchers for the Kampala Serena Hotel and additional hampers.

"It was a very good day for us. The format demanded teamwork and good decision-making, and we stayed focused throughout the round. We trusted each other, supported each other, and were able to put together the score we needed. Winning the overall men's category makes the experience even more special," Osekeny said.

The Aldertons' performance also highlighted the importance of consistency and teamwork in this format.

"Every shot mattered, so staying consistent and supporting each other was important. To finish on 65 and win the overall ladies' category is a great achievement for us," Harriet Alderton said.

Other top results included Pin Hunters (Collins Nugavira and Ivan Wensonga) as men's runners-up with 67 nett, and Back 9 Bandits (Moses Sebugwawo and Apollo Segawa) also with 67 nett, finishing second runners-up after a countback.

Among the ladies, The Divas (Evelyn Atukunda and Charity Tushabomwe) were runners-up with 68 points, and Koco (Lilian Koowe and Connie Nshemereirwe) placed third with 69.

In side competitions, Harriet Kitaka and Joel Nagaba won the ladies' and men's nearest-to-the-pin contests, while Peace Kabasweka and Andrew Muhwezi secured the longest-drive prizes.

In the pre-event weekly quiz, Louis Tumukunde, Evelyn Atukunda, Enock Nwagaba, Hellen Kisinde, and Serwano Walusimbi each scored 20 points and won bottles of Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve. The overall quiz winner accumulated 97 points.

I&M Bank Chief Executive Officer Robin Bairstow reaffirmed the bank's commitment to Katogo, stating that the new three-year partnership reflects the bank's confidence in the platform and its growth potential.

"We remain fully committed to the I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series, and this new three-year commitment reflects our confidence in what we have built together with Katogo. The series has grown into much more than a golf tournament; it has become a platform for bringing people together, creating memorable experiences and taking the I&M Bank brand closer to our customers and partners. We are excited about the next chapter and the opportunities ahead as we continue to grow the series locally and regionally," Bairstow said.

Team Katogo will travel to Limuru Country Club in Kenya on October 30 for the third edition of the Migingo Skirmishes.

Katogo Captain Elly Mukasa welcomed I&M Bank's renewed commitment, crediting the partnership for expanding the series' reach, enhancing the golfer experience, and strengthening the event platform.

"I would like to sincerely thank I&M Bank, our title sponsor, for the continued partnership and commitment to making every edition of Katogo bigger and better. The commitment we have received has allowed Katogo to grow beyond the golf course and into a platform that brings together golfers, partners, and communities. As we head into the final stage of the series, we are excited about what is still to come. The aim remains simple: great golf, great experiences, and a Katogo series that continues to grow," he said.

I&M Bank Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications Annette Nakiyaga noted that continued investment in the series aligns with the bank's goal of creating meaningful experiences and building lasting relationships through sport.

"The strength of the I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series is in the community and experiences we continue to build around the game. Our role is not only to support the competition but also to help create an environment where golfers, customers, and partners can connect in meaningful ways."

The day concluded with an all-white-themed 19th hole event, featuring a performance by legendary Ugandan singer Grace Nakimera, accompanied by a dance troupe. Nakimera performed several classics, entertaining guests and closing the day on a lively note.

The I&M Bank Katogo Series is sponsored by Johnnie Walker, Victoria Motors, GA Insurance, RwandAir, Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa, Kampala Serena Hotel, FENON Events, Goldman's Luxury, Case Hospital, and Timecop Security. Harris International, makers of Riham products, was announced as a new partner.
