Uganda's dominance of netball in the East African region has reached another milestone, as two Ugandan teams will meet in the finals of this year's edition of the Federation of East Africa Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games in Morogoro, Tanzania.

The twenty-time record holders, St Mary's Kitende, will battle it out with Hamdan Islamic Secondary School today, Friday, at Highland Estates Courts in Morogoro.

"The girls have once again displayed a good game this time around in Morogoro. This is all a result of togetherness that has enabled the team to continue prospering. Now our next target is to win the trophy again," said Nordine Kato, head coach of St Mary's Kitende.

Kato's Wakiso-based school managed to secure this year's finals after producing a commanding performance, defeating fellow Ugandan counterpart St Noa Girls 45-28. Hamdan Islamic School beat Kenya's St Monica Boohoo 32-27 to continue their quest for the FEASSA title.

In boys' football, St Mary's Kitende again remained the only Ugandan boys' football side that ascended to the semi-finals. The Wakiso district-based team was joined by two Tanzanian schools, Morogoro S.S and Mbeya Day S.S, as well as CGF Kigali from Rwanda.

During the quarter-finals, Morogoro SS eliminated Amus College School 2-1, CGF Kigali dumped Tanzania's Urambo Day 3-2, Mbeya Day S.S ejected Uganda's Kyadondo S.S 4-2, and St Mary's Kitende triumphed over Nsumba S.S 1-0.

Meanwhile, in girls' football, three Ugandan schools have stormed the semi-finals slated to be played today, Friday, August 21. Rines S.S, Amus College, and Boni Consili Vocational & Secondary were joined by Rwanda's PSB Huye in the semi-finals.

At the semi-final stage, Amus College School tussled against PSB Huye as Rines Secondary School played Boni Consili Vocational & Secondary School in an all-Ugandan affair, with the finals to be played on Saturday, August 22, 2026, during the official closing ceremony.

In a related development, volleyball also entered the semi-final stage, with Bukedea, Chepsaita, Namugongo, and Nyanza securing places in the boys' category.

Bukedea booked their semi-final place with a 3-1 victory over Nyanza, winning 25-13, 25-19, 21-25, and 27-25. Despite dropping the third set, Bukedea held their nerve in a closely contested four-set match to seal the win.

Chepsaita produced another commanding performance, sweeping Kaliua 3-0 in a match decided by narrow margins; they won 25-21, 27-25, and 25-23 to advance to the semi-finals.

Namugongo also secured a place in the last four after defeating Jerome 3-1. Jerome took the opening set 25-23, but Namugongo responded strongly to win the next three sets 25-15, 25-13, and 25-14.

Chesamisi edged Lumala 3-2 in one of the day's most competitive matches. After exchanging sets, Chesamisi won the decisive fifth set 15-7 to secure a semi-final place, where Bukedea will face Chepsaita, as Namugongo takes on Nyanza.

The girls' volleyball side also produced four semi-finalists, with Kesogon, Bukedea, Mwiti, and GS Indangaburezi advancing. Kesogon will face Bukedea, and Mwiti will take on GS Indangaburezi.
