Rotarians spread Christmas love

The Rotarians of the Rotary Club of Bwebajja in Wakiso district have celebrated Christmas with the needy children of Noah’s Ark Orphanage Home in Garuga Wakiso district.

The club members handover 30 mattresses, 40 pairs of bed sheets, food stuff such as sugar, rice, beans, and drinks, on top of sanitary facilities such as soap, humpers, and toilet papers, among others. The items were worth sh6.3m.

They went on to cut a Christmas cake and dine with the children who also live with disabilities.

The president of the Rotary Club, Annie Ninyesiga said that they were touched by the appealing state of these children and resolved to celebrate with them Christmas to create hope in them and shower them with love.

Ninyesiga who was emotionally moved by the state of the children pledged continued support to the orphanage and offered.

“We shall not abandon and we will continue extending a hand to support these children,” she said.

The past assistant district governor, Andrew Kameraho, who was the chief guest pledged sh500000 to support the orphanage Rotarians are not rich people but they have a big heart for giving.

“They are people who want to share the little they have with those who do not have,” he said.

The administrator of the orphanage, Joshua Malinga taking the Rotarians around the home, said that they encountered a lot of challenges which include people who bring children and dump them at their gate without any documentation to identify their origin.
And what complicates the situation, most of these children are sick which complicates the situation.
