Rezlife Saints head coach Moses Okwera is confident his team can extend their perfect start to the season when they face Kampala Rockets in the National Basketball League on Saturday at the YMCA court in Wandegeya.
"Preparation is behind all these wins and the recruitments we made," Okwera said. "We prepared so well and we believe in ourselves."
The Saints have made a blistering start to the 2026 campaign, winning all four of their matches so far. This unbeaten run has propelled them to third place in the men's standings, establishing them as one of the early contenders in the league.
"Success for us is being in the top five at the end of the season. We need to stay competitive," Okwera added. "We might not be the best, but we hope for the best. We need to carry on this form."
Rezlife Saints recently extended their winning streak with a 73-63 victory over UMU Flames. Earlier victories include wins against Victoria Crocs (75-59), KCCA Panthers (68-60), and UPDF Tomahawks (83-63), bringing their total points scored to 299 across the four games.
Several players have been instrumental in the team's impressive run. Edrine Ekau has emerged as a consistent performer, averaging 14 points and 4 assists per game. Michael Otieno has also played a key role, contributing 13 points and 3 assists per game.
Forward Hon Kwany has added 10 points per game along with crucial rebounds, while Kevin Moru has chipped in with 9 points per game. The team's depth has been reinforced by contributions from Duot Ajang, Rin Tueny Mabor, Suka Fadul, Elvis Ssentongo, and Joshua Maiba Kenga, who have provided valuable rebounds, blocks, and defensive stability.
Saturday’s match against Kampala Rockets presents another challenge for the Saints as they look to secure a fifth consecutive victory and maintain pressure on the teams above them in the standings.
