Rackara vows early knockout as UBCL returns with blockbuster clash

Welterweight Paul "Mad Boxer" Rackara's blockbuster clash against Stephan Musulube headlines the return of the Uganda Boxing Champions League (UBCL) for week six.

A total of 23 UBCL bouts are lined up for this weekend's show, scheduled to take place at MTN Arena, Lugogo.

Rackara, who is enjoying his best UBCL season yet with an unbeaten record in season six, returns this weekend with swagger against Sparks Boxing Club's struggler Musulube. The latter lost his only fight this season against 2026 Commonwealth Games-bound Bombers captain Nuhu "Muzaata Batteso" Batte.

The KCCA Boxing Club pugilist, known for his ring-walk showmanship and always accompanied by his Raka Raka dancers, is confident of knocking out Musulube.

"My bet is that Musulube won't go past the second round. I advise him to come well prepared because he is going to taste my wrath. This is my season, and I'm here to clear anyone along my way," Rackara stated.

Other notable fights on the day will see light middleweight Jonathan Wasswa, son of 2014 Commonwealth Games heavyweight bronze medalist Mike Ssekabembe take on Isaac Kasasa.

Elsewhere, COBA Boxing Club's two-time UBCL featherweight champion Moses Kimera faces UPDF's James Japyem, while light welterweight Innocent Amoko battles Denis Muleme, son of national boxing team (the Bombers) coach Lawrence Kalyango.

Additionally, Lukanga BC's lightweight Muhamed Sserunkuma will go up against COBAP BC's Godwin Aluma, among others.
