Premier League side Express FC appoints Nakimera as CEO

Becky Cynthia Nakimera has been appointed the new chief executive officer of Express FC, the Uganda Premier League side announced in a statement.
Club chairman Ssubi M. Kiwanuka said the appointment is "effective immediately".
Nakimera replaces Ashraf Miiro, who was suspended by Ugandan football governing body Fufa earlier this year following a FIFA integrity alert.
Kiwanuka said Nakimera joins the 10-time league champions "with a strong commitment to excellence and a clear vision for the club's continued growth and transformation".
He said her appointment marks an important milestone in the club's journey "as it seeks to strengthen its institutional capacity, enhance operational efficiency, and build a sustainable future for one of Uganda's most historic and successful football institutions".

As CEO, Nakimera will lead the implementation of the club's strategic objectives, with a focus on strengthening corporate governance, expanding commercial opportunities, deepening stakeholder and fan engagement, empowering the club's technical and administrative teams, and fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and excellence.
"The Board of Directors is confident that Ms Nakimera's leadership, and vision will play a pivotal role in advancing the club's ambitions both on and off the pitch," said the chairman.
Wishing her well, Kiwanuka described Nakimera's arrival as ushering in "a new era of unity, sustained success, and long-term growth under her leadership".
Express finished in 10th place in the 2025-2026 campaign, winning nine games, drawing 10 and losing 11.
