Replicating the 2017/2018 season results is top of the agenda for the Stanbic Black Pirates Rugby Club.

Pirates team captain Isaac Massanganzira disclosed this to Vision Sports, stating that the team will take a short break to celebrate the rugby championship victory and then turn their attention to the next assignment, the National 7s.

"Our focus is to replicate 2018 when we lifted all three titles at stake. The boys are going to chill, enjoy a few beers, and return to business in the 7s season soon," Massanganzira said.

"The season has been tough, but the good thing is that the boys' attitude is now in winning mode, and we want the 7s title too," Massanganzira added.

The Pirates on Saturday beat the Toyota Buffaloes 30-29 to lift their third rugby league title.

The six-leg National 7s series kicks off on July 22-26 with the Stone City 7s at RuckYard Sports Club.

It will be followed by the Rujumba 7s, hosted by Pirates at Kings Park Arena in Wakiso District on August 1-2. The Kyadondo 7s will follow on August 22-23 at Kyadondo Rugby Club, and the Rwot Moo 7s at Gulu University will follow on August 29-30.

The Kyabazinga 7s will follow on the weekend of September 12-13 at Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe, and the 7s series will climax with the Kabaka Coronation 7s as the finale at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.

In the 2017/2018 season, the Pirates won the Uganda Cup, the top-flight National Rugby League, and the National Sevens Series.

Later in 2025, the Pirates won the Rugby Uganda Cup and the Rugby Premiership with a 19–8 defeat of Platinum Credit Heathens in the final but fell short of the National 7s, which was lifted by Jinja-based club Walukuba Barbarians.

This season, the Sea Robbers have two silverwares in their cabinet, and the National 7s title will complete their target.
