Welterweight Emily Nakalema has vowed to floor Cape Verde’s Morriera Ivanusa ahead of their grudge fight on Friday at the ongoing World Olympic Boxing Qualifiers in Busto, Arsizio-Italy.
It will be their third time to face off with each coming on top of the other once in their last two meetings.
Nakalema unanimously defeated Ivanusa at the 2020 Tokyo Africa Olympic boxing qualifiers in Dakar, Senegal before Ivanusa beat the former during the 2023 Africa boxing championship in Cameroon.
The two being on level matters, Nakalema now seeks a sweet revenge.
The Katwe Combined Boxing Club pugilist is confident that this time she has a lot in her engine to defeat Ivanusa.
Uganda sent four boxers to the qualifiers, only two are still in contention with the other being light welterweight Joshua Tukamuhebwa who is fighting later today.
Flyweight Shafic Mawanda was eliminated by a walkover as middleweight Yusuf Nkobeza unanimously lost to Romania’s Paul Andrei Aradoaei.
