Vipers SC’s Brazilian coach Roberto Oliveira condemned the poor playing surface at Kakindu Stadium as responsible for his side's 1-0 loss to Gaddafi FC in Sunday's Uganda Premier League encounter.

Midfielder Yunus Sibira set up in form striker Alex Kittata to score the only goal of the match in the 2nd minute with a thunderous strike in the top corner.

"Our team failed to play well because of the bumpy surface that really affected our play. When we conceded in the first minute, both teams relied on long balls and that really isn't our style as Vipers," said an unhappy Oliviera.

His opposite number George Lutalo commended his players’ fighting spirit.

"When we lost to KCCA, we regrouped and worked on our mistakes and that improved the team to play as a unit. My players have really exhibited a fighting spirit today and that will inspire us for more wins in the next games," said Lutalo.

Gadaffi was without head coach Wasswa Bbosa on the touchline as he served a suspension.

The win pushed Gaddafi to seventh with 15 points while Vipers stayed third with 20 points, two behind leaders KCCA.
