National motocross team takes shape ahead of FIM Motocross of Nations

The National Motocross team for the FIM Motocross of Nations has taken shape, with the top three racers in each class automatically securing their places on the team that will represent Uganda at the continental event in Namibia in August 2028.
According to Arthur Blick Jr, the FMU board member in charge of motorcycling, the sixth round of the National Championship on Sunday in Mityana will decide the remaining two racers to complete the final team of five in each class.
In the 50cc class, Israel Mpuga, Ellis Avisha Laboke and John Patrick Muwonge form the top three.
Gift Ssebuguzi has shifted from the MX2 class to the MX125cc, which falls within his age bracket according to FIM regulations.
The MX125cc class proved to be the strongest of all the classes, with Gift Malcom Sebuguzi leading it. Miguel Katende, Jerome Mubiru, Ally Kimera and Jason Burrows completed the set of five riders in that class.
The 85cc class will include Jonathan Katende, Ethan Musede, Ethan Katek, Isaac Mitima and Ashraf Mbabazi.
Jude Kyle Musede, Emil Segirinya, Jerome Mulumba, Eadric Musede and Solomon Winyi form the 65cc class, while Abigail Katende, Joy Norah Ashna Faith Mbabazi, Faith Deedan and Janan Makumbi form the 65cc Ladies team. Shukran Katete and Abigail Muwanguzi will race in the white bib category.
In the MX2 class, Milton Akaki, Ashie Mbabazi, Malcolm Omoding and UMOSPOC Ambassador Waleed Omar will represent Uganda.
