The Namuwongo Blazers will be going for their 11th consecutive victory when they take on the KCCA Panthers today at Abja Park in the National Basketball League.
The game is the pick of a three-match fixture in the men’s NBL that also features encounters between the JKL Dolphins and UPDF Tomahawks at the YMCA and the UCU Canons and the Victoria Crocs at Lugogo.
Namuwongo are unbeaten and have indeed not been threatened since the opening day loss to the City Oilers. Against KCCA, Namuwongo face one of the league’s most consistent sides, but their quality should ultimately make it a comfortable outing for the title-chasing Blazers.
KCCA enjoyed a strong showing in the first round of the NBL, going 7-5. They started the second round with a 74-55 loss to the Oilers, struggling to put points on the board consistently. For Raymond Muhumuza’s Panthers, the goal will be to put up a better performance against the defending champions, who will test them at the same level as the Oilers.
