WBC Africa Elimination Fight

L.Muwonge (UGA) v P.Dlomo (RSA)

Saturday, October, 14th, Luwero Recreation Grounds

Lightweight Latib ‘Dancing Master’ Muwonge is set to test himself among Africa’s elites when he takes on South Africa’s Prince Sibusiso Dlomo on October 14.

Muwonge, the reigning ABU Africa Lightweight title holder and former WBF All Africa title lightweight champion battles Dlomo in a WBC continental elimination fight, his hardest test since turning professional in 2019.

Contrary to Muwonge’s known venues, the MTN Arena in Lugogo and Club Obligato in Kampala which habitually host his fights, his mega blockbuster against Dlomo will be hosted at Luwero Recreation Grounds this time.

But the electric, former national boxing team ‘The bombers’ pugilist is confident to take Dlomo to the sword and floor him.

“I’m not bothered by who Dlomo is. Whether he has been fighting on planet Mars he has to go down. He has to kneel before me,” vowed Muwonge.

“I have trained for this fight for the last three months. I’m ready to gun down this South African at all costs. As I have continuously said, my dream is to win prestigious titles. I can’t let it slip in my hands”

Signed under Great Strikers Boxing Promotions, Muwonge’s rise to fame has seen him win with ease all his previous seven fights in the paid ranks.

His main victims have majorly been Tanzanians and Kenyans thumping to pulp all his last three opponents Alberto Clement, Ally Mbukwa, and Ali Mkojani from President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s land.

But in Dlomo, Muwonge, a Zana-based pugilist and March 2023 Fortebet Real Star award winner has to fight the bout of his life.

Going by experience Dlomo’s 30 professional fights with 17 wins, six knockouts, 12 losses, and one draw give edge to him in comparison to Muwonge’s seven.

The same fight will have under-card thrillers that include UPDF’s Lt.Mzeei Aldine taking on Kenyan David Omolo in the Featherweight WBF Africa title, Jjunju Power (Uganda) up against Tanzania’s Hamis Mwakinyo, Grace Nabasumba against Swedish Sandra Attermo among others.
