ABU Super Lightweight Elimination Title Fight,

L.Muwonge (UGA) Vs A. Mbukwa (TAZ),

Uganda’s Latib ‘The Dancing Master’ Muwonge has promised his fans fireworks ahead of his Africa Boxing Union (ABU) Super Lightweight elimination title fight slated for this Friday, February 3.

Muwonge takes on Tanzania’s Ally Mbukwa in a must-win duel.

The two budding boxers will tussle it out at the new Club Obligato in Kampala along Bombo Road in a much-anticipated ABU Super Lightweight decider.

Muwonge who made his professional debut in April 2019, currently holds the World Boxing Federation (WBF) East and Central Africa Lightweight title and the National Lightweight title.

Besides hitting such success in just three years, the stylish former national team pugilist is hungry to add the ABU title to his accolades.

“My fans must expect to see a different Muwonge. I’m going to punish this Tanzanian until his corner throws in the towel," Muwonge said.

“I have improved a lot in my speed, power, and defence. I have got new skills in my armory, so expect fireworks."

Muwonge is ranked first in the lightweight division in Uganda with 2,088 points on the global rankings.

He signed under Great Strikers International boxing promotions and remains undefeated with a ring record of 6-0-0 professional fights.

Meanwhile, Mbukwa stands on a 7-5-2 ring record, winning five of his seven professional fights with two losses on the run.

Mbukwa will be Muwonge’s second Tanzanian opponent with the other being Ali Mkojani whom he recently won with a spirited unanimous points decision victory in December last year.

The key area Muwonge must take note of is the fact that Mbukwa has won all his last five fights with two knockouts.
