In his second year of playing, junior golfer Elvis Mungudit has set himself the target of playing under par in the forthcoming season of the NCBA-sponsored US Kids Golf Series.
The fifth season of the US Kids Golf tournament is scheduled to tee off on November 25.
Mungudit, a 16-year-old golfer from Namulonge Golf Club, set the challenge after winning the fourth season of the NCBA-US Kids Golf Series in the boys' 15-18 age category. He returned a gross score of 72, which was level par, after playing 18 holes on Sunday.
He accumulated 153.5 points from the six outings to emerge as the overall winner in his category.
Mungudit, an S2 student at Lutembe Boarding School, said that having mastered the rules and tactics of the game, he now wants to make significant improvements to his performance.

"I have been playing and winning by at least 10 points over par on many of the courses. I now want to play under par," said the determined Mungudit.
His consistency and focus for the future have kept him going from finishing in second position last year to first this year.
He thanked NCBA Bank, the coaches, US Kids Golf management, and Namulonge Golf Club for their support, particularly the club's role in training and sponsoring seven junior golfers to compete at such a high level this season.
"I also want to play in international events to make a mark by disappointing many competitors," he added.
Several other players were also crowned and awarded medals and trophies following the conclusion of the series.
Harsshitha Loganathan emerged as the winner in the girls' 15-18 age category with 90 points overall. She is currently in Nigeria, where she is representing Uganda at the continental junior golf competition.
Speaking at the season finale, Mark Muyobo, Chief Executive Officer of NCBA Bank Uganda, said the bank remains committed to supporting initiatives that nurture young talent and create opportunities for the next generation.
"Our ambition was to establish a structured and sustainable pathway for young golfers in Uganda to develop their talent, compete meaningfully, and build character through sport. We are proud of how far the program has come and the growing number of young people it continues to inspire," Muyobo noted.
US Kids Golf official Les Brown said that over 80 juniors aged between six and 18 years participated in the six events of the fourth season.
"The tournament has produced many of the country's national junior golfers over the four years it has been running, including the girls representing Uganda in Nigeria now," said Les Brown.
Brown also commended the parents for their continued support of the young golfers.
The overall winners in the respective age categories were crowned and awarded trophies and medals.
