Rally driver Michael Mukula's pursuit of the 2026 Africa Rally Championship (ARC II) and National Rally Championship (NRC) titles has received a major boost.
On March 6, 2026, Mukula received sh40 million in sponsorship from Cornerstone Asset Management. The funds were handed over by the company's Managing Director, Simon Mwebaze, at the firm's offices in Naguru, where Mwebaze reaffirmed Cornerstone's commitment to supporting motorsport.
"Our dream is building a culture of savings and investing. And we are out to grow together with motorsport," Mwebaze said, adding that the company is impressed with Mukula's performances in previous years.
Cornerstone's backing adds to the support Mukula already receives from KCB, who sponsor his participation in ARC events across Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania, as well as the NRC.
Mukula Jr. is aiming to reclaim the ARC2 title he won in 2024 while also targeting victory in this year's National Rally Championship.
"We are excited about getting this support," Mukula said. "As a growing rally team, we are committed to transparency and promoting our brand to grow together with Cornerstone Asset Management."
This year's NRC features eight rounds, beginning with the season opener in Mbale on the weekend of March 26–28, 2026. The remaining rounds will be held in Masaka; the Tooro region (Kasese and Fort Portal); Gulu in the Acholi Region; Soroti-Katakwi; the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally in Mbarara; the Kabalega Rally in Bunyoro; and the MOSAC Rally in the Central Region.
