More exciting prizes for those that will excel in the Serena 63 Golf series have been added to those that had earlier been announced after I&M Bank joined the growing number of sponsors for the biggest-prized amateur events in East Africa.

Excelling amateurs in the challenge will now, on top of winning the main prize which is one-year free membership to the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa (LVSGRS) among other prizes also be facilitated by the bank to play in their I&M Invitational Golf tournament in Kenya.

There will be five slots up for grabs on that front courtesy of I&M who sealed their partnership with Serena during a press conference at the Serena course on Tuesday.

LVSGRS Golf Manager Theo Van Rooyen signed the partnership with IM Bank’s acting Managing Director Sam Ntulume witnessed by the bank’s Head of Marketing and Corporate Communication Annette Nakiyaga and the Chief Business Officer Edward Gibson Nangono.

Van Rooyen said the bank will join the event for the entire series to keep it exciting and ensure everyone remains engaged on top of adding some value to it by also supporting the quarterly order of merit awards.

Ntulume said in the pursuit of their strategic aspiration to be East Africa's Leading Financial partner for growth is what brought them on board as they go out and seek partners with whom they have mutual respect but also with whom they can work to achieve that aspiration.

“We are glad to have joined this series. It is very important to have partners like Lake Victoria Serena to manage and engage with our partners for growth,” Ntulume said.

“We are in this because we want to provide a platform and value for our stakeholders and we believe that being part of this series will provide us an environment in which to connect with our different stakeholders,” he added.

“It is through such events that we shall play a vital role in the social-economic environment of this country and we also look at it as an opportunity for our clients to come and learn from the rest of the people that will be taking part,” Ntulume stated.

He said the tournament will help golfers create markets and business opportunities for their respective organisations which will help in growing the private sector in this country.

He encouraged golfers to continue registering for the event as they also continue creating opportunities for them through the Invitational Golf Tournament.

“It is a promising golfing property at one of the best courses in Africa and we are privileged to be able to connect with our customers. It will allow them to network with their counterparts in Nairobi,” Nakiyaga said.

The other prizes to fight for include two-night accommodation for two at Zanzibar and Mombasa Serena Beach Resorts alongside return air tickets courtesy of Uganda Airlines, and at the Nairobi and LVSGRS with rounds of golf for four, caddie fees, cart hire, and lunch all taken care of among others.
